"Peace/Liberty," copyrighted in 1929, represented a giant leap in technology with Day's "colorized" version of his 1926 work. The copy we were fortunate to work with showed only very slight fading in the red spectrum and we decided to leave it alone, our thinking being the slight fading added to its character and feeling of age. The eagles in this version appear fierce and warlike, in contrast to his earlier black and white version.
